Ha ha ha! So it is the middle of winter, and we are posting photos of people wearing t-shirts and mini-skirts. What is up with that?!?
Apologies for letting the blog slip in recent months, but we have been really buried with organizing the fashion shows, events and forming a company. ISS has grown so much over the last year... Anyway, we will do our best to keep everything up-to-date, :-) well... right after these gems from last summer:One of my personal favorites, this photo says it all about the carefree style on great summer days. From the archive: I have been wanting to post these photos for some time now and will dedicate the moment to these emerging fashion designers, who have contributed so much to the ISS project and on the runways at our Sahane* parties.

Here they are, on various backstreets of Beyoğlu, in different seasons:

I've noticed a trend this summer with colorful Brazilian combinations of yellow and green, as well as the large beaded necklaces and jewelry. Duygu is a technical designer who makes this look sporty and fun.

Seda is wonderfully “one woman.” She actually designed this piece, the light-cloth black overcoat, that to me is reminiscent of Côte d'Azur romanticism ala Vadim-era lux cinema. A stop at Deriden in Ortaköy is like uncovering a treasure, the downstairs floor is home to an incredible collection of Galipolli war memorabilia, a truly rewarding experience to behold. She also designed this space, and is a top source for knowledge on the subject.

The big outdoor festival season has begun and it was my first time to Parkorman. What a great place for a concert - situated in a forest with a large pool and lush green grass! It's a nice escape from the hectic pace of the city, without ever actually leaving it.

Anyway, in all the fun of that day I met Müge, who is looking very much what I would call summertime backstage style. So chill-out, comfortable and cool and I love the shades and hot sneaks.

These two positive and energetic girls were so much fun to talk to. They obviously have a talent for styling. On the left, I admire the gold Converse shoes, and actually it matched this wonderful gold-sequined tie she was wearing.

I really like this whole outfit. The skirt is hand-done and only 1 of 6 pieces like it in Istanbul. Nice color harmony and balance, together with the belt, handbag, headscarf and even those funky umbrellas they sell on the boulevard these days. I have one of the same color! :-)

Ludwig Lehner is a sup-human diety and that is all there is to it, amigos. Keep your eyes out for the Tünel Street-Art Festival coming in early June and be amazed!

Neşe from More Magazine is styled today in black silk, tres chic bravo.

Garment designer Ebru Yeni taking a short break out in front of her atelier in Galatasaray. Ever the busy bee, I got a chance to interview her about designing for brand development. Read the full interview.

Today she is looking very cute in layered natural fabrics that are pleasing to the eye and sustain interest. Note the clever waistcoat cinch closure on the jacket.

This is one of my favorite pictures yet. Her varied textures and fabrics and colors were quite unique and exciting. She clearly knows fashion as a technique and has mastered it quite well. A treasure of style!

(Sometimes when out taking pictures by myself it can be an exercise in getting over my natural shyness. Özlem was a good sport and played along with the photo shoot. As a result, I felt much bolder about this project.)

Meet Rodrigo: an illustrious, young performance artist from Chile. Catch his act at 360 Istanbul on weekend nights through February. Today he is wearing a silk tuxedo jacket and checkered high-collar sweater. Leather shoes by Adidas.

And if I am guessing correctly, the ring is actually a (silver?) pipe fitting of the sort found in hardware stores.

I am drawn to eccentric personalities. Their one-of-a-kind nature is something that intrugues me and can find identity with. Here his art has infused his wardrobe and expresses who he is, what he does and is done passionately.
